OUR STORY

It started with rain, and a refusal to let it win.

Chooka is part of Washington Shoe Company, a fourth-generation, family-owned business that has been making rain boots in Seattle since 1891. As a family, we have spent 135 years perfecting one thing, and we are just getting warmed up.

For most of history, you had a choice: stay dry, or look good. We've never accepted that trade. So we build boots that do both, and refuse to compromise on either.

Engineered in the rainy PNW, waterproof, and designed to actually look good. That is the whole point of Chooka.

Tested in Real Rain

Designed in Seattle and proven in the weather that raised us. Nobody knows rain like we do.

Designed Where It Rains

Tested in the real thing

We don't design rain boots in a dry studio and hope for the best. We design them in Seattle and prove them in the weather that made us.

Every seam, sole, and silhouette has to earn its place against a Pacific Northwest sky. If it cannot handle our rain, it does not make the cut.

A promise passed down.

For four generations, the people who make these boots have shared the same last name and the same standard.
That is rare, and we do not take it for granted.

When you pull on a pair of Chooka boots, you are stepping into 135 years of getting it right.
That history is our guarantee.
